Ângela Ferreira (aka Berlinde) is an artist, curator and researcher at the University of Minho (CECS), whose practice focuses on photobooks, archives and contemporary visual culture. Her work explores the relationships between archives, publishing and memory, with a particular focus on the politics of visibility and representation. She holds a PhD in Art Education from the University of Minho and completed postdoctoral research in Interdisciplinary Arts and Poetics at UFRJ (Brazil). Over the last decade, she has curated contemporary photography across Europe, Asia and Latin America, particularly in Brazil. She is co-founder of NERVO – Observatório de Fotolivros in Portugal, a platform dedicated to critical reflection on contemporary publishing practices and visual narratives. She is currently Artistic Director of SOLAR – Fortaleza International Photo Festival (Brazil) and a lecturer at the University of Minho and the Lusófona University. She lives between Portugal and Brazil.
